The aim of the Library Systems course is to enable students to use the available information resources effectively, both within the library and electronically. The course also helps them become familiar with practical and efficient methods of library use, as well as with the services and opportunities designed for their needs—from using learning spaces to the quick access of scholarly literature, including the introduction of interlibrary loan services and specialized databases.

Course objectives:

  • to develop students’ information-seeking and information-use competencies,

  • to increase the likelihood of student retention in higher education,

  • to enhance the quality of theses and dissertations produced in higher education,

  • to improve students’ personal information-gathering skills, and

  • to support students in meeting the new demands of the labor market.
